The US has identified Huawei and ZTE as threats to National Security, essentially ensuring their gear will not be used in the 5G networks, and giving smaller carriers access to funds to pull out and replace their equipment. UK is considering pulling them from their provider lists as well, which would be a reversal of a decision from March.
