CND are looking to recruit a Cyber Security Consultant as a pivotal innovator, supplying safety through technology, to provide our clients customers with more efficient, safe and secure products and services, whatever their requirements. Our client’s Cyber Consulting practice provides a broad range of independent advice and specialist technical services to identify, manage and mitigate the risk associated with ICT systems.

Role Requirements

Responsibilities

Manage resources in order to plan, estimate and carry out Cyber Security activities to time, budget and quality targets and in accordance with appropriate standards.

Delivery of risk assessments against complex systems and services against defined methodologies.

Manage project teams or direct reports to deliver required outcomes

Operate independently in setting and delivering work schedule, spotting opportunities and adapting to specific circumstances

Provision of advice and consultancy services to Government and Commercial clients.

Monitor and reports on the progress of projects, using appropriate quality assurance processes to ensure that projects are carried out in accordance with agreed standards, methods and procedures.

Stakeholder engagement including customers, programme managers, business leaders, developers and implementers, safety, security and other subject matter experts

Assist with the development of concepts, review, elicit and derive requirements

Coach more junior members of the team in order to ensure successful delivery

Broad and deep ICT cyber security technical knowledge.

Experience working to HMG IA Standards, preferably including MOD.

Security professional certifications preferred (such as CISSP; and CCP SIRA and/or IA Architect)

Degree educated; ICT, Science or Engineering.

Consultancy skills – building client relations; flexibility in working hours and locations; adaptability to changing schedules; reliability and quality of task delivery; team player.

Experience of working in a fast-paced demanding environment.

Capable of working in multi-discipline teams but also on own initiative.

Able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.

Desirable Skills

Knowledge of a range of InfoSec methods, tools and techniques including those covered by current HMG, MOD and NCSC policy and guidance.

Good understanding of physical, personnel, procedural and technical security controls and how to apply them.

Knowledge of the security issues associated with existing, current and emerging technologies including cloud, virtualisation and web.

Ability to interpret and advise on current HMG, NCSC and MOD Security policy and guidance.

Experience in delivery of Cyber Vulnerability Investigations.
