Computer Network Defence Ltd are a broad-spectrum cyber security consultancy based in Corsham, Wiltshire and in the Isle of Man. 

This is an entry level role suited to a system administrator, network administrator, recent cyber security graduate, or someone with equivalent and demonstrable skills. As a graduate you must have achieved at least a 2:1 and preferably, a First in a Cyber Security or Computer Science degree. Digital forensics graduates may be considered, where cyber security modules were taken. Please include your grade in your CV.

As a degree equivalent applicant, you must have exceptional skills and experience in System and Network administration. Cyber security in all its guises must be your passion. Your skills, knowledge and passion will be tested throughout the application process, as will your attention to detail.

Upon joining CND your primary task will be researching cyber security products for inclusion on our securitywizardry.com website, collating Cyber Threat Intelligence articles for our various social media outlets and researching arising vulnerabilities alongside our Red Team. You will also be introduced to Cyber Essentials and work with a number of our vulnerability scanning tools, both passive and active. As part of your Red Team duties you will be helping to create phishing assessments for our clients along with some social engineering.

You will be supported by and work alongside some of the country’s top Security Analysts, Consultants and Architects. All applicants must include a covering letter (<400 words) introducing them, outlining their passion for cyber security and you’d like to work for our company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cyber Security Product Research.
  • Cyber Essentials Assessments.
  • SOC Analysis for our MSSP clients, including Event Management and Analysis.
  • Vulnerability Management and Analysis using a variety of tools.
  • Research and promulgate open source and cyber threat intelligence.
  • Share Cyber Security knowledge and experience with non-frontline staff such as CND’s Recruitment Team.

Essential Skills

  • Be self-motivated, able to initiate and develop concepts and innovative ideas into solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Windows operating system, client and server.
  • Excellent analytical skills with phenomenal attention to detail.
  • Strong understanding of attack methodologies and the threat landscape.
  • Demonstrable ability to work on own projects and within a team.
  • Knowledge of several commercial or open source security products.
  • Strong understanding of networking and TCP/IP.
